The Shades of Green blog is now open to new writers.

That’s right, if you are interested in writing about eco-friendly living and Green Party politics on the South Coast of England, then we would love to hear from you.

Do I need experience?

Nope. All you need is a passion for eco issues.

Do I get paid?

Unfortunately, we are unable to pay contributors. We are a small operation and no one here gets paid.

What do I get out of it?

*A bio (including a link to your blog) on your post

*Promotion of your post on our Instagram/Twitter accounts (and we’ll tag you of course)

*Professional editing of your piece (with feedback if you’d like it)

What can I write about?

We are particularly interested in blogs on the following topics:

*how to eco-hack holidays/celebrations that aren’t already covered already (we want to provide inclusive content for all people)

*personal narratives on your green/eco lifestyle in Portsmouth

*commentary on the green (or not so green) policies of Portsmouth City Council

However, if you have any other ideas we’d love to hear them.

Your posts do not have to relate to the Green Party but we won’t  publish content that disparages the Green Party or promotes another political party.

How long do the posts have to be?

We like our posts to be 400-800 words in length.

Do I have to supply images?

If you have images that you own the rights to that you’d like to submit, please upload them to your Google Drive and send us a link to the image.

If you don’t have any images, feel free to use a relevant image from the Portsmouth Green Party Instagram page or a royalty-free image online (send us the url, not the actual image).

Please direct any questions, pitches or submissions to blog@portsmouth.greenparty.org.uk and we’ll get back to you asap!

Best,

Emma and Tamara
